Removed a UST (oil tank) that was leaking . They removed the UGT and removed contaminated soil. The tank was 1000 gal, located in a tight area with the house foundation on one side and stamped asphalt on the other. They removed the UGT with no damage to the surroundings which exceeded my expectations considering there was little room to dig without damaging the stamped asphalt. The crew was professional, well qualified for the individual tasks and a pleasure to work with. I have a background in construction and knew there was a good chance some stamped asphalt was going to come out, so the outcome was a pleasant surprise. They submitted a report to the NYSDEC and closed the spill record in a timely manner.

Our needs were initially simple: we were going to have our tank abandoned in place. After contacting C2G the process was simple, straightforward and very affordable. Once we learned our “sound” tank sprang a leak…game change. Uncertainty abounded: how much oil leaked? How far did it spread? What steps must we take to remediate the situation? How long would this take? C2G proposed a scenario for all the above with one caveat: IF the contamination was not as dreadful as we feared (there are nightmare stories about this) C2G indicated they would adjust the final billing to reflect exact service as rendered. We were fortunate our spill was not drastic…C2G provided a revised billing that, in the end, was way lower than initially projected. "C2G performed an oil tank removal from my house following my conversion from oil to natural gas. I was extremely pleased with both the quality of workmanship and the customer consideration that the employees of C2G displayed during their work at my home.

C2G was recommended to me by Central Hudson. Prior to the tank removal, the process was carefully explained to me and all my questions were answered.

On the day of the tank removal, my father was at my house to oversee the work being done. He relayed that the men were very professional. They arrived on time, and they volunteered to show identification after introducing themselves. They evaluated the tank and told him exactly what they were going to do, and how they were going to do it. They were well-prepared for the job and had all the tools they needed with them, including the extra items like bailing wire and duct tape.

I especially appreciated the cleanliness of the job. When the men drained the tank and mopped it dry, they passed all the oil with its distinctive smell out of the basement window. They cut the tank into pieces and also passed these pieces out the basement window. None of the components of this entire process passed through the living section of my home, which avoided all the obvious smells, and potential slips and spills. They men carefully mopped up the basement area where the tank had been. They finished the entire process and were completely gone in less than two hours.

In short, the men employed by C2G were punctual, careful, considerate, and knew exactly what they were doing. According to my father, they were “really nice guys”, too. I would highly recommend C2G to anyone having an oil tank removed. "

The event that led to the need for oil tank removal, soil remediation, and insurance was a result of our desire to install a new sidewalk, add drainage and landscaping to the back of our home.  The work was to be performed by Mark Masseo of Masseo Landscaping, New Paltz. After observing the old buried oil tank Mark felt that it would be in our best interests as home owners - to have the oil tank examined for contamination before he removed it. With our  approval he brought in Paul Bany and Lou Mastro of C2G Environmental Services of New Paltz.

Despite the old tank being packed with sand, C2G ascertained that there was oil residual which had somehow migrated out. C2G sent us a cost proposal for remediation and brought in the DEC who concluded that the situation, although seemingly small, could have wide reaching consequences to adjoining properties. Indeed, an oil spill  is an oil spill is an oil spill regardless of scope.  This in turn led us  to seek help in abating the costs for remediation which was far above our financial resources. Well, our good fortune was that we had been State Farm Insured home owners for over 25 years and Jim DeMaio (New Paltz) and Joe Bristol (Syracuse) came through and found the way to afford us coverage.

 Their work in remediating the soil and water was thorough and comprehensive despite the work site being impacted hourly by a high water table. The good news is that the soil remediation was successful and was approved by the DEC. The oil spill case was also closed by the DEC. So thank you Mark, Joe, and Lou.

Just a note to Thank You for coming to my home on a Sunday to evaluate our potential oil spill.
